Rajasthan Cabinet Approves Diaspora Department & Massive ₹15,600-Cr Energy Push

In a bold move to expand economic growth and deepen global ties, the Rajasthan Cabinet recently approved two landmark initiatives: the creation of a National and International Rajasthani Diaspora Department, and a ₹15,600 crore energy joint venture between RVUNL and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL).

Diaspora Engagement Gets Strategic Boost

  • The newly formed department will be dedicated to non-resident Rajasthanis, both in India and abroad.

  • Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa explained that this move will formally address the concerns of the Rajasthani diaspora and strengthen their connection to “Brand Rajasthan.”

  • Plans include annual events like Pravasi Rajasthani Day, honour programs, and an online portal for registering diaspora associations.

This department is designed to serve as a bridge—channeling investment, talent, and policy feedback from global Rajasthanis back home.
