Making Job Fairs Actually Work: The Rajasthan Model

Job fairs are common across India, but how many actually lead to employment? Rajasthan is trying something different—creating an annual calendar for employment fairs across all districts with an integrated digital system to track outcomes.

Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who oversees Skill Development and Employment, recently reviewed departmental schemes and directed officials to develop this structured approach. The first state-level fair was held on December 25, 2025, at Commerce College in Jaipur, followed by divisional fairs in Kota, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Bharatpur.

What makes this effective is predictability. When job seekers know fair dates in advance, they can prepare properly. When employers know the schedule, they can plan recruitment cycles accordingly. When the system is digital, data helps improve future events.

The unified Employment Fair Module matches industry demand with candidate profiles more scientifically. Instead of random job matching, the system considers skills, location preferences, and sector requirements.

Behind these fairs is infrastructure: 1,115 newly appointed junior instructors, 13 new ITI courses aligned with market needs, and 5 Model Career Centers being established in Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Sikar, and Bhilwara.

This isn't just about organizing events—it's about creating an employment ecosystem. For those seeking updates on employment initiatives, visit the official portal.
